Bihar: Truck rams into roadside settlement in Vaishali; 7 killed, 8 injured | Patna News
According to the police, the incident took place around 9pm on Mahnar- Hajipur main road under Desari police station area, when the locals have gathered on roadside under a tree to perform navatan puja (prayer service) to worship Bhuiyan Baba. Amid the prayer service, an uncontrolled truck rammed people standing on the roadside and overturned on the spot after hitting the tree.

Vaishali SP Maneesh Kumar confirmed the death of seven people and majority of them are kids. “The police team has reached the spot as soon we got the information about the incident. The injured were immediately taken to the nearby hospital for treatment after they were rescued with the help of locals. The police are probing the incident and ascertained the identity of the deceased,” he said.
The police officer said around 15 people reached near a Peepal tree on roadside in Nayaganj tola to perform the prayer, during which a speeding truck coming from Mahnar ran over them and toppled after the vehicle collided with the tree. “The accused driver has been taken into the police custody and vehicle has also been seized. The injured were taken to the nearby hospital for the first-aid treatment and later taken to Sadar Hospital,” the police personnel said.
The police recovered the bodies of the victims and sent to Hajipur sadar hospital for the post-mortem. After the incident, there was chaos on the spot.
