Google features artwork by Kolkata boy who won 2022 doodle contest | India News

NEW DELHI: Google on Monday celebrated the winners of the 2022 Doodle for Google competition and featured a doodle by Shlok Mukherjee from Kolkata, who won from India this year. Shlok doodled his hope for India’s scientific advancements to take the center stage.
This year’s contest received over 1.15 lakh entries from children reading in Class I to X, from over 100 cities across India. The theme of this year’s contest was “In the next 25 years, my India will….”.
“We were amazed by the creativity and imagination students brought to their entries, and were especially heartened that the advancement of technology and sustainability emerge as common themes across many of the Doodles,” Google stated.
Shlok, whose doodle was titled “India on the center stage,” also wrote: “In the next 25 years, my India will have scientists develop their own eco-friendly robot for humanity’s betterment. India will have regular intergalactical travels from Earth to space. India will develop more in the field of Yoga and Ayurveda, and will get stronger in coming years.”
