Mysuru-Chennai Vande Bharat Express flagged off: Five points | Bengaluru News

PM Narendra Modi on Friday launched South India’s first Vande Bharat Express from KSR Bengaluru City to Chennai Central. Here’s all you should know about this train service:
1. India’s semi-high-speed Vande Bharat (VB), which can operate at a speed of 160-180 kmph, is likely to halt at more than 40 stations enroute to Chennai during its inaugural run on Friday.
2. The inaugural KSR Bengaluru-Chennai Central Vande Bharat left Bengaluru at 11am and stop at stations like Cantonment, Byappanahalli, KR Puram, Whitefield, Devangonthi, Malur, Tyakal, Bangarapet, Varadapur, Bisanattam and reach Chennai Central station at 6pm.
3. Regular VB services will commence on Saturday. The train will r un six days a week (except Wednesdays) between Mysuru and Chennai with stoppages at Katpadi and Bengaluru. The VB train (20607) will leave Chennai Central at 5. 50am, reach Bengaluru at 10. 20am, and expected to arrive at Mysuru at 12. 20pm (total travel time: 6. 30 hours). On the return journey, 20608 VB Express will leave Mysuru at 1. 05pm, reach KSR Bengaluru City at 2. 55pm and Chennai at 7. 30pm (total travel time: 6:35 hours).
4. The train is equipped with intelligent braking system for better acceleration and deceleration
5. The train is designed to be friendly for specially-abled passengers and side recliner seat facility is also provided for all passengers
