Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 India unveil next week
The Super Meteor 650 is the third motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s lineup to be powered by the 648cc parallel twin engine that it shares with the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The engine makes 48 hp and 52 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed transmission.
The company’s flagship cruiser Super Meteor 650 gets a fresh design unlike any Royal Enfield motorcycle currently. Weighing in at 241 kg, the Super Meteor 650 gets 43 mm Showa USD forks, which have been used on an RE for the first time. It gets an LED headlamp.
Braking equipment includes a 320 mm disc up front and a 300 mm disc at the rear, paired with a dual-channel ABS. Like the Meteor 350, the Super Meteor 650 also rides on alloy wheels and CEAT Zoom Cruz tyres.
The cruiser will come in two variants – Solo tourer and Grand Tourer or GT. The Solo Tourer is the single-seat version and gets a wide variety of colours to choose from – Astral Balck, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Grey and Interstellar Green. The GT can seat two and gets two colour options – Celestial Red and Celestial Blue.
Like all Royal Enfield motorcycles, the Super Meteor 650 will get a set of accessories as well. After a showcase at Rider Mania, the cruiser should be made available for purchase soon after. Expect the bike to carry a price tag of about Rs 3-3.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
