Gill, who slammed his second successive hundred inside four days, took only 19 innings to attain the milestone, surpassing Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan‘s record of 24 innings.

Overall, Gill is also the second best along with Imam-ul-Haq after Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman who took 18 innings to score 1000 ODI runs.
Gill, whose previous century came against Sri Lanka on Sunday, scored an 87-ball century against New Zealand which ws studded with 14 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Gill has also scored most runs in ODIs since the start of 2022 followed by Babar Azam.
Gill, who scored his first century against Zimbabwe, is the only batter in men’s ODIs from India to have an average of over 60 and a strike rate of more than 100.
