Vivek Agnihotri tweets about ‘truth and lies’ in a cryptic reaction to IFFI jury head calling ‘The Kashmir Files’ a vulgar movie | Hindi Movie News

IFFI Jury Head Nadav Lapid sparked a controversy after he called ‘The Kashmir Files’ a ‘propaganda and vulgar’ movie. Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, who were a part of the film, have strongly condemned the Israeli filmmaker’s remarks at the closing ceremony of the film festival.

And now, ‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has penned a cryptic tweet, seemingly in reaction to Lapid’s comments. Wishing his fans good morning on Tuesday, the filmmaker wrote, “Truth is the most dangerous thing. It can make people lie. #CreativeConsciousness.” Hitting out at the comments, Anupam Kher had posted, “No matter how high the height of the lie is.. It is always small in comparison to the truth.”

IFFI Jury Head Nadav Lapid had said in his speech, “We saw seven films in the debutant competition, and 15 films in the international competition, the front window of the festival. 14 out of them had cinematic qualities, defaults and evoked vivid discussions. All of us were disturbed and shocked by the 15th film, The Kashmir Files. That felt like a propaganda, vulgar movie, inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival. I feel totally comfortable to openly share these feelings here with you on this stage. In the spirit of this festival, can surely also accept a critical discussion, which is essential for art and life.”
