Who is Isudan Gadhvi, AAP’s CM face in Gujarat | Gujarat Election News

NEW DELHI: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday declared Isudan Gadhvi as the party’s chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming elections in Gujarat.

Like Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party conducted an opinion poll to select its CM candidate in Gujarat.
Kejriwal said that Gadhvi, 40, got as many as 73 per cent votes in the poll, pipping state party unit chief Gopal Italia.
Who is Isudan Gadhvi?
* Isudan hails from a farmers’ family in Dwarka district’s Pipaliya village and belongs to the other backward castes, which account for 48 per cent of the state’s population.
* He is currently the national joint general secretary of AAP.
* A former TV journalist, Gadhvi worked in a popular Doordarshan show called ‘Yojana’.
* He worked at ETV Gujarati as a field journalist in Porbandar from 2007 to 2011.
* He was known for exposing a Rs 150 crore scam of illegal deforestration in Dang and Kaparada talukas of Gujarat on his show.
* He later joined VTV Gujarati where he hosted the popular prime time show called ‘Mahamanthan’.
* Gadhvi joined AAP in June 2021 and was facilitated by Arvind Kejriwal.
